This piece, "Wakati", is Swahili for "time". Time is a gift and holds all of the possibilities.
Kenya is a special country to my family and me. My grandparents lived in Nairobi for several years, teaching and serving the people there.
My friend, Judith, has lived and served there for decades, currently helping the Rendille people of Baalah in northern Kenya.
$500 from the sale will be donated to the education of the children of an African family in Kenya.
The design of this piece is inspired by the walls found in the African section of Disney's Animal Kingdom. The marks of time are evident and beautiful.
